“Oh, very nice cervix.” -OB during a prenatal ultrasound.

Mother replied, “No one has ever complimented me on my cervix, but thank you!”
O. replied, “Well, next time you have a bad hair day or don’t feel so great, just remember, my Dr. thinks I have a great cervix!”

“Not everything is an act of violence, you know.” OB to a mother, moments after she delivered a double-footling breech baby over an intact perineum. OB attempted to cut an episiotomy without mother’s knowledge or consent, and stopped only when mother was alerted to episiotomy-in-progress by doula and husband and shouted “I do not consent to an episiotomy!” two times.
