“So, you’ve got one empty sac and one heartbeat in there. Everything looks good for that one, but I give it a 50/50 shot at best, because you’ve got such a lousy track record.” -ER doctor to mother presenting for vaginal bleeding early in pregnancy, after an ultrasound revealed a miscarried twin and a viable twin.  The mother had suffered many prior pregnancy losses.

“…I Delivered A Dead Baby Yesterday.”

“I am so upset, I delivered a dead baby yesterday.” -OB to mother during an ultrasound scan at 37 weeks,.  The mother burst into tears on the exam table while the doctor continued to discuss the details.
