“Hey, can you pay me a little money? For my trouble?” – Midwife to mother during a phone call made to tell the mother that she had placenta previa at 13 weeks and would need to transfer care. The midwife delivered all the information in a phone call and was not open to a face to face appointment to discuss the situation.
