“It’s so wonderful when I get to talk to a woman who is so in touch with her body! You obviously have a good handle on your cycles and your body’s cues.” – OB/Gyn being seen for fertility issues, after the woman explained the information she had about her cycles.

  1. This is mine! I had recently changed to a new GYN (thanks to my old one being fodder for this site), and my husband and I had been TTC our first for 18 months at the point of this appointment. I was talking to her about our apparent fertility issues, and she was asking the normal questions about cycles, ovulation, etc. I told her that we used NFP, my cycle length, the cycle day I usually ovulated and signs, etc. She put down her pen, looked at me, smiled, and said, “It’s so wonderful when I get to talk to a woman who is so in touch with her body! You obviously have a good handle on your cycles and your body’s cues.” She then told me that any time we wanted, she would put in a referral to a fertility specialist and to just let her know if/when we wanted to pursue that route. Thankfully, we ended up getting pregnant several months later…our last cycle of trying before getting a referral to the specialist.

  2. So wonderful to hear of a doctor who “gets” fertility charting and believes in its importance.
