Thoughtful Thursday! “…You Did A Great Job All These Weeks To Make Me As Strong As I Am!”

“But I’m doing really good mom & you did a great job all these weeks to make me as strong as I am!” – NICU nurse speaking “as the baby”when the mother cried and told her newborn son that she was sorry she had to deliver him early, at 33 weeks, because of complications, before the baby was taken up to NICU.

I have to admit, I really don’t love the anybody “speaking as the baby” routine (unless it’s preceded by something asking the lines of “it’s like he’s saying…”), but I love the spirit of this, and it must have been a great comfort to mom to land here!

Agreed. I’m not usually a fan of making the baby talk or speaking for the baby either but the intentions were good, the mother probably needed to hear what was said… I can’t hate it.

When cloning has been perfected (including cloning personalities), we need to clone this amazing NICU nurse 1000 times…or at least have this one teach others how to behave like this! I’m glad you had such kind support during a difficult time.
