“Well, it just seemed like the right thing to do at the time.” – OB to mother when she thanked the OB for saving her life after the vaginal delivery of twins, loss of 3100 CCs of blood, and heart failure due to peripartum cardiomyopathy.

I think this is great. It shows the humorous relationship the two had. I would laugh if my midwife ever told me something like that.

I know the mother’s situation was serious, but I still think the doctor’s comment was really funny and understated. Bravo!

When I read this it makes me think this OB is showing true humility, basically saying “I didn’t do anything extraordinary, I just did my job.” This is such a sweet and refreshing comment. A lot of OBs on here have clearly let pride get to them.
