Holiday Sweets! “You’ve Been Charting For 4 Years. We’ll Just Go With Your Date.”
“You’ve been charting for four years. We’ll just go with your date.” – Certified Nurse Midwife to mother when discussing conflicting measurements taken during the 11 week ultrasound.

Reminds me of my super-awesome midwife who looked at my chart, saw that at the previous appointment I’d refused to give an LMP and refused a dating ultrasound but given my ovulation date. She said, “You know what? You know what you’re doing. What’s your due-date?” I told her. And that was the exact day the baby arrived.

That’s pretty cool. I knew when I ovulated with my last, and even the dating ultrasound supported my claims, but when my baby came 12 days ahead of the magic wheel and 2 days before my ovulation due date, my midwife still tried to convince me he was a little early. The boy had no vernix and looked completely “done” to me, not to mention he was a full pound bigger than any of my other babies were when born.
I’m glad there are trusting and trustworthy midwives out there. I’m going to do my best to fall into that category.
