Aw, Ethel, I hope the next time someone makes a kind remark about you, your home, or an event in your life that there is someone else nearby to stick her finger down her throat and make gagging noises for you too. ‘Cuz it’s totally polite and all.
Who cares if you wouldn’t find that remark pleasing? The person to whom it was made DID, and that’s really all that matters. Well, that and good manners from others.

I don’t even necessarily believe in the usefulness of doulas and I still think it is nice comment. After all it is the people there that matters when it comes to kind comments.

This made the OP feel good. That’s what matters. Even I were an atheist/didn’t believe in heaven, I would MUCH rather hear this than a bunch of other garbage that’s spewed out we read on this site.
