Wow. Just wow. I wish this OB practiced in my area. This is a real gem. I had over 15 cervical exams after my water broke and I did get an infection. The nurses told me that the infection was because my water had been broken for so long, and not because of the exams. Silly nurses, they should get some training with this OB.

My water broke 69 hours before my oldest was born (and my medwife ignored that fact, it was, apparently, watery discharge) and 70 hours before my youngest was born. I had a MIDwife then, and she said it was no big deal, as long as we didn’t go near it.
And lo and behold I was fine both times. The first time because no one believed me and the second time because my midwife didn’t make a big deal out of it.
