I was informed (not asked) of the decision three hours after induction began, in spite of three previous births following two to six hours of labor each.

Is that one of the reasons to note for a C-section these days? Don’t think so. I guess you’ll either have to get someone else to pick up your kids or get another OB to oversee your patient’s progress. She’s got HER kid to take home from the hospital, you know?
I work in customer service, myself, but never would I tell a customer, “We have to fix your issue by 11:15 so I can go to break on time.”
