Thoughtful Thursday! “…I Talked To A Midwife And She Helped Ease My Fears…”
“I felt nervous about you going past 42 weeks and not being induced, so I talked to a midwife and she helped ease my fears about letting birth happen naturally.” – OB to mother postterm.
WOW!!! Way to go, OB!

One who recognizes their fears, but doesn’t let them take over, and instead conquers them with information! YAY =D Sooo happy!

That a doctor consults with anyone is amazing. That they consult with a midwife is nothing short of a miracle. That they actually LISTEN to a midwife — I’m in shock. OP, so glad you had such an amazing and patient doctor. Do you think he/she could be cloned?

YEAH!!! That a doctor
1) recognizes that there are many different ways to help a pregnant woman,
2) that different risk factors require different levels of concern,
3) that different professionals specialize in treating different levels of risk
4) that these professionals are not lessened by learning from one another
and best of all,
5) that Fear is not a medical professional and should not be the only one consulted.
Dear Doctor:
You ROCK!
Love, Everyone

That’s AWESOME! I love it when when a doctor consults someone else, instead of assuming that they know everything.
