It’s not so hard to say nice things. And it can be so healing to hear gentle words in a time like this.

We here so many stories about OB’s ripping apart women that dare to homebirth. It’s really nice to hear about one that was sweet. Maybe made that woman’s day a bit easier since things obviously were not going as planned.

That was always my biggest fear– that I’d transport and be punished by the hospital staff for believing I could birth at home. These kind of posts give me a little relief that not all transports have to be completely horrid.

This one is mine, although it does have an error. It should say, “after a hbac (home birth after cesarean) transfer.”

I had been at 8 cm for two hours before we decided to transfer to the hospital. I opted for a light epidural (could still feel contractions), got some rest for a couple of hours, and pushed out my second daughter in about 30 minutes. The ob on call, I found out later, was one of the most csection happy docs I could have had, but she was helpful and adjusted baby’s head as I pushed. She came in later to check my sutures, and told me this. It was great!
