Thank you for sharing this. It’s so wonderful to hear of good experiences like this. I’m sure the respect and kindness you were treated with helped make a tough situation (being separated from your baby/stress of having a baby who was having trouble) a little easier to get through. I hope all was ok with him!

He was fine. Came back after an hour, just as I was threatening my nurse that I was gonna walk down to special care if she didn’t get a wheelchair NOW.

Dislike these words.

This is mine, from my wonderful OB when she was going over my detailed birth plan. I mentioned that it was important to me that I get to have him on my chest as soon as he was born. That’s when she said this. Unfortunately, he was born with a high fever and kind of juicy/not wanting to breathe much, so we didn’t get much chest time before he was taken for bloodwork, but I was treated so nicely by the neonatologist who sent my baby back to me so I could kiss him before he left.
