“…I’m Not Going To Let You Out Of Bed.”
“There was really no point of me bringing that birth ball for you, because I’m not going to let you out of bed.” – L&D Nurse to mother.
If she’s anything like the nurses attending my first hospital birth, she’ll be out of the room 98% of the time and you can do whatever you want in the in-between times. Does this nurse really stay in the room so much that she’d be able to keep the mom in bed?

I wish someone would say this to me on a normal day, but when I need to be up and about I might get annoyed.
I’m intrigues at the result of this, did mummy get up and about? x

This is mine. The nurse said this and then followed it up with “You’re just too heavy for me to get back in bed, and we can’t have you giving birth on the floor!” My husband said, “I can help get her back in bed, if that’s where she wants to be” and my mom said “Why can’t she give birth on the floor?” (don’t remember if she said it at the time, or maybe afterwords while talking about the nurse I’d had.) I weighed less than 200 lbs at 40 weeks when I was giving birth.
I didn’t know enough about my rights to just get up and walk around anyway. But I do know, and have switched providers and hospitals.
My most recent birth was a low to no intervention hospital waterbirth. (i.e. no IV, no drugs, no monitors, etc.)

You’re right. You’re not going to LET the grown woman who funds your existence do anything. SHE will do what SHE needs to do.
