There’s good back story on this (as I’m the OP): Back in 2009 I submitted a nasty comment made the L&D nurse at my first son’s birth (http://myobsaidwhat.com/2009/09/23/are-you-a-smoker/). 13 months months ago now (it was 4 when I submitted this) my fraternal twins were born at the same hospital. The OBs began to suspect inter-uterine growth restriction toward the end of the pregnancy, and after extra monitoring and tests I scheduled an induction at 39 weeks, 4 days. The OB on call was an amazing woman with twins of her own. She and the nurses were all incredibly warm and supportive. I had a slow pitocin drip, but refused an epidural (the anesthesiologist who was there in case of emergency made herself useful feeding me ice chips instead). When labor kicked in, it kicked in FAST (4 to 10 cms in under an hour)! I pushed my daughter out in 2 pushes, rested for about twenty minutes, and then pushed her brother out in 3 pushes. I had to be on the OR table, but I was on my side this time instead of my back. The OB even let me put my leg on her shoulder. It was so different than my first, coached labor! It was the primary nurse who made this comment to me. I felt so much love and support from that group of near-strangers. It was a wonderful and empowering birth experience.

Dislike these words.

Ain’t it the truth!
See? Is that so hard?
OP, I’m so happy for you that you had an educated and good nurse!
