Thoughtful Thursday! “…I Am Going To Be With You For Every Moment.”
“I’m so sorry, I know this isn’t what you wanted. I am going to be with you for every moment.” - Certified Nurse Midwife to mother who was going to need a repeat cesarean, when she had been trying to VBAC.
Thank you all. It turns out I have a heart shaped uterus and that is the reason neither of my babies were able to engage. Something no one thought to investigate until after I had the second child (it was hard to detect while pregnant but easy to spot postpartum). Thank you for all of your comments, I have mostly come to peace with my body. I focus on the amazing things it can/did do rather than what it wasn’t capable of. MY CNM was right there with me through everything from prenatal visits through PPD. She was amazing.

I’m so sorry you didn’t get your VBAC, but I am glad you feel able to focus on what your body CAN do. Congratulations on having two beautiful, healthy babies! You did great!

This is pretty much what the Nurse said to me when I had to have an emergency C-Section. She was my baby’s nurse, she held my hand until they knocked me out and told me that she was going to be taking care of him (baby) the moment he came out. She made me feel so much better about the surgery.

I am sorry you didn’t get the birth you wanted, OP.
I am glad that you had a midwife who supported you.
