There are so many reasons why a repeat isn’t necessary. True reasons for a c-section: transverse and won’t rotate, placenta aburption, placenta previa, true CPD or malformation of the mother’s pelvis – which pretty much can only be proved by Trial of Labor. Could there be a problem with the mother’s pelvis that increases the chance of serious malpresentation like a double uterus or rickets? Sure, but you try to move during labor and see if the baby can wiggle past rather than do the dead cockroach while hooked up to pit and then panic when the baby goes into distress. Natural is better.

Aw. Poor momma. Why are doctors so dumb?

6 weeks ago I had an unplanned c-section for fetal distress (I was planning to homebirth, long story, but the c-section was medically necessary). Anyway, the doctor on-call that day was amazingly wonderful and when it was decided that I needed a c-section he said, “And with the incision I’m going to do there’s no reason why you wouldn’t be able to birth vaginally if you choose to have more children.”
