“…At Your Age & Weight, You’ll End Up Having One.”
“You won’t need that after you’ve had your epidural, and at your age and weight, you’ll end up having one.” – OB when asked by the mother if she could use the bath during her labor.
I wonder what the age and weight of the mother was. I’m a really small lady, and had several people concerned that a vaginal birth was going to be soooooo painful for me because my hips look smaller than most on the outside. I managed just fine with the birth tub, fwiw. Right afterwards I actually said something like, “hey, that wasn’t that bad!”

I am seriously at a loss to figure out what mum’s age/weight were. I would think that if you were going to put generalisations on it, you would assume that very young, fat women get epidurals but I dunno ??
As others have said, age/weight have nothing to do with how you choose to cope with labour and birth.

I was 38 years old and 200lb at term, so I was old and big! apparently this meant I wasn’t going to cope with a natural labour! I showed them!
