“If your body couldn’t push out this baby, you would not have dilated to 10cm. You can do this.” – OB to mother with a baby expected to be near ten pounds.

Yeah, I’m down with Thoughtful Thursdays but …. my body DID dilate to 10 and couldn’t push out the baby. So while this may be encouraging to the OP who probably did push the baby out, if she hadn’t been able to do it, it probably would have made her feel guilty and/or responsible for not being able to do it (I know it did for me).

The collary of this is if you don’t dilate (on their schedule), it was because you couldn’t possibly birth your baby. I’m happy this comment helped the OP, but this kind of thinking is why I ended up with a cesarean
