“You Aren’t Going To Go Into Labor Without Help.”
“You aren’t going to go into labor without help.” – OB to overdue mother.
Wow! You mean I could just stay pregnant FOREVER?! Would that get me into the Guinness Book of World Records?!

Wow, you’re brave! I always tell people not to show up to scheduled inductions, but you’re only the second person I know who actually did it! Way to go! And good luck at your birth!

so much easier to do with you turn off your phone I can tell you. LOL, and also, one of my supportive, wonderful doula/girlfriends sent me this post.

I went 41+3 with my first & ended in a c/s so not going down that road again. And I also have it documented and signed that I decline VE’s, cannula, & monitoring except with a doppler and all that would go out the window if I consented to an induction. I just told them that repeat c/s & induction just wasn’t an option while I was healthy, baby was healthy & all was well with the world and I go to my doctor ever 2nd day to check heartrate, BP & pee into a cup and “while they strongly advice against not discussing options and putting plans in place they have to respect my wishes and my rights of refusal”.
P.S. I did this over the phone, DO NOT WALK INTO THE HOSPITAL FOR ANY REASON, EVEN TO DECLINE PROCEEDURES!!
Thanks for the well wishes. HBAC here I come.

Ditto that! (Says the mom who’s had two HBACs). You’ll do great. Best of luck.

My earliest child was born 9 days past my “due” date. My latest child was 22 days late. All of my kids had great APGAR scores at birth. You will go into labor on your own, I promise.

Are you going to shrink yourself and a submarine down and go inside to knock on my baby’s head and say, “Time to come out now.” No?
Then just things happen as they happen.

LOL! That made me think of the Magic School Bus where they were always shrinking down/turning into random objects and going the weirdest places!

AN OBSTETRICIAN? HELPING A LABOURING MOTHER? HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA…
Oh, my, that’s rich. I think I may rupture an organ if I laugh any harder.
Doctors don’t help labouring women. They order drugs to start/manage labour, more drugs to kill the pain of prematurely induced labour, and then continue to do work in their offices seeing patients while the nurses in the hospital babysit the bleeping monitor that represents the labouring mother, who has been left more or less to her own devices. Fifty percent of the time, this winds up in abdominal surgery, but that’s all right, it’s just another way to give birth, it saves the pelvic floor, and all that matters is a healthy baby. Oh, and a big fat fee for the surgeon.
Midwives and doulas help labouring mothers – although they generally wait until labour has started on its own to do so. Doctors, almost never.

Okay then…I’ll go home, walk around the block and then have sex with my husband. KThxBai

Don’t forget the curry!
I guess that could be combined with the husband sex though. Depending on how well you multi-task.
