Thoughtful Thursday! “You Are Safe Here.”
This is my submission. I’m a doula and this was at the birth of one of my very first VBAC clients. When the nurse walked in and said this, honestly my first thought was, ‘Oh yeah, lady? We’ll see about that.’ LOL but she certainly made good on it.
Mom ended up giving birth to a 10 lb (!!) baby on her hands and knees in the dark. The L&D nurse had been a midwife in another country and is now practicing as a CNM here. I just did another beautiful birth with her yesterday.

That is awesome! Especially since it seems like the nurse made sure she WAS indeed safe. That’s fantastic!

I gave birth in England, and, while the facilities are not nearly as nice as in the U.S., I did luck-out on having a wonderful midwife. I had an agonizing back labor and was trashing on the bed in pain sucking on gas-and-air, literally going in and out of consciousness, and she stayed by my side and kept telling me I was safe. The pain was so bad I thought I was dying and hearing that did make me feel better and actually safe.

This might be the most beautiful TT I’ve ever seen.
