I want to know exactly what was in that birth plan that impressed the doctor. Was it a really awesome doctor that just likes bith plans or was it a really well written, thought out, reasonable and responsible birth plan.

I’m the person who submitted this. I’d say all of the above. I was having a healthy pregnancy and my doctor and I were on the same page with my birth plan and wishes. It wasn’t extremely rigid (and we discussed the “just in case” options) but it made it clear that there were certain things I really wanted (or wanted to avoid). My doctor was great, and even when things didn’t go exactly as planned she was respectful and we discussed things… I never felt like she was trying to take charge without my input first. It really was a beautiful birth, too.

Positive thinking goes a long way, since birth is not just a physical process.
Emotions tie into it very strongly and affect it so heavily that they can’t be separated at all.
Great doctor!
