Okay, that was mine. The rest of the story is this–the family practice doctor had agreed to be the emergency backup for my homebirth. I went to see her five days postpartum because I was concerned about how some labial tears were healing (I had bruising, a scab, etc.). I went in and told her that we’d had the baby at home and that he was 9lbs 2oz and she said the above Then she held and admired the baby and complimented his name and then checked me out and helped me understand what was going on (even drawing a little picture). She spent 45 minutes with us at that visit!
