While I think it was probably NOT the right time to make such a comment, nor was it made in a caring way.. he actually might have been right. Many times mom’s NEED to have a good cry before labor begins.

Again, though, there was so reason for her to need to cry about THAT. He’s still a jerk.

I thought only Pitocin makes moms go into labor.

There are tons of ways to jumpstart labor.

Not to mention that the reason that she was crying was probably over the potential fear of losing her child. I’m sure the very thought still haunts her. Sensitivity training anyone?

Fearmongering piece of crap!! GRRRRRRRR!

This is mine!! I had been told I had a grade 3 calcified placenta at my 37 week appt. 2 times weekly NST’s showed my baby was beautifully growing, I had plenty of fluid and I was healthy. At that appt. my husband asked my OB if me and the baby were in any danger if we waited past my due date to go into labor, what might happen. OB replied, “Well, there’s always the chance of sudden stillborn.” Obviously I was crying my head off at that point because of that comment and how badly I wanted to avoid a c-section. My water broke 6 hours later. Successful VBAC (w/ a different OB on rotation). The next morning he was on rotation and came to my room to see me. That was his comment and I thought my husband would murder him!!
