That brought tears to my eyes. I had my first VBAC 4 months ago, and the joy I felt is so fresh. I’m so glad you were treated with such compassion!!!

That’s so beautiful. That’s the way birth is supposed to be, with someone loving and warm and caring and supportive cheering you on and encouraging you. I am so happy for you! I love success stories like this – the make me remember that while the system is broken, not all the parts are.

This is my submission! The wonderful VBAC that is mentioned above happened 5 years after my Cesarean in a wonderful birthing center in Florida. One of the CNM’s there, Sara, and I had a connection right from the first visit and I just knew she would be the midwife to support me thru my birth! She was due about 3 weeks after I was due to give birth and was also hoping to have a VBAC,

I was 42 weeks when my water broke and labored for over 72 hours with my 9lb 5oz posterior baby girl..and Sara was there for every moment! I finally broke down and cried(sobbed) around 8cms and exclaimed that I could “not do this anymore”. Sara climbed into the bed next to me and held me in her arms while I sobbed. She told me that she knew I could do this and that crying and wanting to give up was an encouraging sign that my baby was very close to being born. She told me how strong I was for fighting so hard to have a VBAC and that I had inspired her to try for one too. “You are my role model,” she confessed with tears in her eyes. 15 minutes later, my daughter arrived safely into my arms–she was bruised up a bit from her sunny-side up presentation, but otherwise healthy and beautiful!

Sara went on to have her successful VBAC 4 weeks later to the day <3
