“You Are Not Getting Credit For Your Contractions…”
“You are not getting credit for your contractions…we need to break your water.” -L&D Nurse to mother ten minutes before she birthed her baby in the caul.
all that means is that all the hard work u are doing isnt helping things move along, so she will break the waters to help a bit.. not so bad.. i have had much worse..LOL

That’s obviously not the case if the woman had the baby 10 minutes later. And if it was the case, then breaking the water could result in cord prolapse.

My immediate thought was “I’ve said that to moms who had to be on the monitor for Pit”, but have NEVER heard it said just because a mom is in labor. Makes you wonder how these guys/gals got through med school. And really makes you wonder how on earth we had babies before these bright individuals took over “managing” our labors.

This was my baby who was OP. Dr. said he didn’t want baby to be stuck OP. She kept chasing me with the EFM…trying to get it to pick up the contractions. She wanted the water broken to screw that monitor in my baby’s head. I was not amused. I felt my baby turn and then she was born in the caul. This after an hour and 1/2 of pushing for no reason…baby had to turn first.

LMAO And I bet when that baby was born with sac intact, the nurse didn’t know WHAT to think. Hee hee!

I got many comments on it. The OB seemed impressed that the baby was “born with the bag intact” (makes me wonder how far…the whole bag? My husband says the nurse pulled the bag off the baby and she was at least to her chest before she did that, but he says she may have been all the way out). The family doctor was very impressed when he came to check the next day.

This is like saying our contractions before the ones we have right before birthing our baby is “false labor” … that is annoying. LOL! All of it is for a purpose! I had some mild and some good uncomfortable contractions for weeks before my son was born… I was 4-20 mins apart, my water broke and he was in my arms 30 minutes later. I honestly can’t pinpoint when my “labor” “started.” haha

What is this, high school? The baby won’t come out if you don’t get enough credits?
