“I have to watch this monitor during every contraction because if the contraction lasts for over 2 minutes your uterus is gonna blow and someone is gonna die.” -OB to mom during her VBA3C (Vaginal Birth After 3 Cesareans) labor.

You know what? If that attitude kept the doctor in the hospital, working with the mom during the duration of her labor…let him(or her) believe that.

BTW, what is s/he going to do if the contraction reaches the 110 second mark? Put on a flack jacket, or dive for cover beneath the hospital bed?

Good for this mom. The ob is a jerk but good for her for finding someone who was willing to let her even attempt labor after 3 C-sections. It gives me hope for finding someone when I would like to vba2c!

Good job mama.

There are so many things I would have never imagined coming out of a health care practitioner( I can’t even call the people here professional because they are far from!)

I realize uterine rupture can occur with VBAC, but since when does it had a time limit??? The medical communities whole point about why its so ‘dangerous’ is it happens without warning or warning signs (I’ve heard midwives say there are warning signs but apparently woman who rupture in hospitals don’t have them). Wouldn’t it be nice if we could tell when a uterine rupture was about to happen just by a time limit? Maybe this doctor should publish a paper and become famous for telling everyone how to predict uterine rupture! (boy, I get sarcastic when I’m tired!)
