Wow..."Dirty old man admires fruitfull young womans breasts." Gross much?

As most of you lovely ladies have said, its not breastfeeding that changes breasts, its lifes other two culprits...

Time and his twin brother, Gravity. Oh, I guess we should include Mother Nature in on that, as gravity is her fault.

I am currently breastfeeding my almost year old daughter (she will be one in a few days!!!)

And this also makes me proud of my Best Friend for Life. She was 19, married (asked by her hospital staff MULITPLE times if she knew who the father of her child was...Every time she replied with "Yeah, my HUSBAND") breastfed her son til he was 22 months and self-weaned.

I was 19 when I was married and 20 when I conceived #1. The first Dr kept calling him my boyfriend/partner, and even wrote that I was an ummarried woman in my chart!

Thankfully I mainly saw the midwife at the practice and she was very supportive of my choice to breastfeed. BUT I had to have a biopsy on my left breast at 2 months post partum (I have a long family history of breast cancer, had just been diagnosed with CIN3/stage 0 cervical cancer, have fibrocystic breasts and had found a large painful lump) and when I told the oncologist that I wanted to wait on the biopsy if it would affect my breastfeeding he said, "Don't worry, 2 months is plenty long to nurse." before sticking a huge needle in my chest.

I ended up with complications and leaked profusly out of the incision for over a week, had to start supplementing and within 2 months, my son was done! I had a slow let down to begin with and he wanted the bottle. I was so sad!

With my 2nd (15 months right now) I am still nursing despite my MIL's comments of, "you should really wean him by now." and "your husband did just fine without breastmilk." My pediatricians are also supportive.... for now. I am just praying I don't have to deal with them telling me to wean in the next year, as I have planned to let him self wean.

That's so silly. She said it as if breastfeeding knowledge comes with age instead of experience.
And how rude that she called your DH your boyfriend. D:

GOOD for you Brittany! It's absolutely awful that the doctor treated you and your husband that way. Congrats on 19 months of breastfeeding, that is an awesome accomplishment at any age.

Oh and it doesn't matter what age your first child is born, everyone starts out inexperienced with breastfeeding! I enjoy answering questions on breastfeeding support message boards, and I expect I've answered just as many questions from 25-30 year old first time mothers as I have questions from younger moms.

Wow. This is wrong on so many levels.
I was 16 when I conceived and 17 at the birth, and I intended to breastfeed from the start. Before I transfered to my midwife from the horrid OB I had the OB asked what kind of bottles we intended to use. I informed her I intended to exclusively breastfeed, and in shock she says "You don't know how! You're too young to nurse, young mothers never stick with it." She then turns to my husband (who she insisted on calling my boyfriend) and says "Make sure you take the formula samples the hospital gives and buy some bottles before the baby gets here. You won't want to be out buying formula on the way home from the hospital." UGH. My lovely DD is now almost 19 months and still nurses. I never had a single problem. : )

Hahaha, well, mine did get saggy after BFing my son -- I was a 32AA before I got pregnant and they were gigantic when my milk came in and have never been the same since -- at least he told her to wear a bra rather than to not BF at all. ;p

This makes me flat out angry! WHY WHY WHY would you FOR ANY REASON discourage a woman from breastfeeding!?!?

I've been pregnant or breastfeeding for six years straight and I've only got two kids. My breasts are better now then they were before I got pregnant the first time.

What a load of crap to be telling a teen mom. Breastfeeding is the best thing that she could do for her baby. And it does not ruin breasts.
