“Well, Just Be Sure You Don’t Breastfeed Any Longer Than 6 Months…”
“Well, just be sure you don’t breastfeed any longer than six months at most. You won’t be happy with the shape of your breasts if you do.” -OB on learning that mother planned on extended breastfeeding
Aw, Lindsey, you beat me to it! That’s what I was going to say!
My baby #4 is still nursing strong after 17 months, and mine look the same as they did after baby #1 who only nursed for 3 months.
Tell that doctor that our breasts can multitask!

You know what? I could spend the rest of my life trying to hang onto the body of a 19 year old, worrying about gaining half an ounce, spending half my day at the gym, and spending a fortune on products and eventually plastic surgery. But I’m still gonna get old. I’d rather work my way toward having the body of an 80 year old great-grandmother, who carried, bore, and nursed 5 children (for a grand total of 49 months, a bit more than 6!), who spent her days caring for those 5, plus 2 more, and a husband, whose only diet was healthy, home-cooked food, whose exercise was bouncing a baby, then a grandbaby on her knee. I’ll probably never pose nude in Playboy, but I really do not care.

Oh yes, we wouldn’t want to possibly consider the AAP recommended year of nursing (and as long thereafter as is mutually desired!), or the WHO recommendation of 2 years. ‘Cause after all, its all about what your breasts LOOK like.
I’m not ashamed to admit that I’d told my hubby (tongue in cheek…not sure if I’m serious yet) that I want a breast-lift as a post-menopause present. In the meantime…I’m using my breasts for feeding my babies.

Knitted in the Womb– you can use all the money you did NOT spend on formula to pay for the boob job!

Let me guess…the doc is a man. If not, let’s pray she-wolf doesn’t have children.

That’s just ridiculous. I’m 8 months into nursing and my boobs look better than ever. I wasn’t happy with them before nursing and I don’t expect to be happy with them after nursing, so I might as well extend the amount of time I do enjoy them as long as I can. (not that that’s why I nurse – lol – just a benefit!)
