“Oh, Very Nice Cervix…”
“Oh, very nice cervix.” -OB during a prenatal ultrasound.
Mother replied, “No one has ever complimented me on my cervix, but thank you!”
O. replied, “Well, next time you have a bad hair day or don’t feel so great, just remember, my Dr. thinks I have a great cervix!”
I thought I had read somewhere that doctors are trained to be careful what they say when doing those types of exams. Like they should say everything looks “healthy” not “good” or “nice”. Although, I can’t imagine feeling that any doctor was getting dirty thoughts from looking at my cervix.

I think this one is cute. Odd, because OBs are usually more brusque, but on the whole I’d rather this than some mean things they sometimes say.
A friend of mine who’s had her share and then some of mean comments went with another friend of mine to a prenatal visit with a CPM, and called me, crying, afterwards because the CPM told the pregnant friend that she had a beautiful uterus! And now she always tells me that My uterus is beautiful, too!!

I loved this. I just had my 8 week postpartum check-up and during the exam the CNM told me she never would have guessed that I’ve delivered three babies through there everything looked so good. (It’s a rotating practice so this was the first time with this practioner.) I was elated – I left the office wanting to shout out to the world how awesome my vagina is. The downside was that very few people want to hear this sort of information (I couldn’t stop laughing when I thought about posting it as my facebook status…) so it was just bubbling inside me. Still bouys me up whenever things aren’t going so well. (Dishes and laundry never caught up? I can deal with that because I’ve got a great vagina…) It seems like these are the sort of things women need to hear more often.

Lol, what’s he trying to say? It’s what’s on the inside that counts?
