“The Doctor won’t know which way to rotate the shoulders in the hands and knees position.” -L&D nurse to mother, asking the mother to change positions.

Babies are born “hands-off” all over the world and doctors and hospitals seem to think that it will only happen in their presence and on their terms. Babies have instincts to turn themselves just like a laboring women has instincts on how to delvier her baby if she is given the oppurtunity to listen to herself.

Close your eyes and visualize – it doesn’t change whether she’s “upside – down” or “right-side-up”.
And, by the way, it’s debatable which one is right-side-up.
Or, and this is a shocker, I know, how ’bout the hands-off approach and letting the baby turn itself? You’re there to CATCH the baby, doc, not to DELIVER it.
