Oh man am I glad I didn’t birth in a hospital! They would have flipped out over my “huge” 10.5 lb baby (who slid out after 2 hours of pushing and NO tears, BTW).

Actually they likely wouldn’t have even wanted to “let” me push that long. *sigh*

I know someone who was talked into a primary cesarean with her second baby with this reasoning. Granted, her baby was big (and she is tiny)…but so was her first, and so were her grandmother’s babies (and her grandmother was tiny-as is her mother)…

my grandmother-in-law thinks I should schedule a c-section (and is vocal about thinking I’m risking my baby’s life by not) because my first baby was 9lbs 1oz (which doesn’t even meet the ACOG guidelines for macrosomic birth weight, I think I spelled that wrong..). I’m only 25 weeks along, we have no idea how big this baby is but because I had one big baby she thinks I should just schedule a c-section, of course, she also thinks c-sections are SAFER than vaginal birth!
