This was mine, unfortunately. I was also handed the dead baby card during this confrontation in the hallway of his office (bet the staff had a lot to say that day! hehe) He ended up walking out, calling the hospital and scheduling me for an induction.

I ended up getting a second opinion and switching at 40+ weeks, and went into labor on my own at 41w5d.

Unfortunately needed a c-section due to a malposition, but my cervix worked fine, thank you very much. I wonder if the c-section could have been prevented if he had examined baby's position in the last month or so, instead of the useless cervical checks.

These quotes are just getting worse and worse. C'mon - did these people go to school or what? I am beginning to think either the docs saying these gems are the ones who passed the MCAT and graduated and by the skin of their teeth, or think WE are the dumb ones and can say the most asinine of comments and think we will go for it.

Um...no, I think that his or her conception of normal pregnancy and birth is lousy! And good lord, perhaps this OB's conception of a "favorable-for-induction" cervix is lousy too!
