I would actually prefer this response to the situation where they say "Oh yes, make a birth plan, we encourage that" and then just toss it in the trash as soon as you are out of sight. I *get* that things aren't set in stone for birth (emergencies happen, no one denies that), but why be so dead set against simply talking about what the parents want? And if what they are asking for isn't dangerous or unreasonable, why not accommodate their preferences? Another one for the “At least they were honest” category.
