“Well, when your daughter goes to kindergarten, we want her to be riding the long bus, don’t we?” -Midwife to client recommending a Cesarean to a mom “stuck” at 8 cm.

If the baby is in genuine distress, surely there is some way to communicate that to the parents without being completely offensive and unprofessional.

As a parent of a special needs child, I find this unbelievably insulting.
I think if a midwife said that to me, I’d kick her out of the room, then report her.

For me, I would say, “Actually, no.. the short bus would be great since my first born *already* rides the short bus. Now they’ll be able to ride together!”. THEN, I would walk out and refuse to pay.

Actually, I’d rather walk my kids to kindergarten. Especially my special needs daughter- when she is old enough, I’d do what I can to be able to walk her. *rolleyes*
