“…It Will Confuse The Baby.”
“You can’t deliver on hands and knees because that is backwards…and it will confuse the baby.” -L&D Nurse
This is my all-time favorite… so far.

With a constant stream of new nursing graduates, it is a constant teaching process. They were blown away yesterday when I helped a pregnant woman get into position on her knees–to help get the pressure off her back. More blown away when I delivered a vaginal breech. (I know the WOMAN delivers it)
I love it when I ask them–is she having a contraction? they look at the monitor!! Have to teach them to actually put their hand on the uterus.
We were all young once–and ALL of us–EVERY SINGLE ONE of us has said things that they may regret later or didn’t come out right.
Use the opportunity to teach someone–it goes a long further than belittling them–this includes nurses and doctors—they may get a positive experience with it and pass on the information to the next generation.

Was the OB upset that the nurse referred to him/her as a baby?!?!
(Wow, this site really brings out the snarkiness in me!)
