“Did you sign the VBAC waiver? You know… the scary one that says you could die?” -L&D nurse to VBAC mother while she’s pushing.

WHILE SHE WAS PUSHING?! Even if in the best of circumstances the nurse was trying to make light of those atrocious VBAC waivers, you don’t make that sort of “joke” or any statement remotely resembling that one when a mom is within a ten-foot pole of BEING IN LABOR!!!

But they do. Some medpros feel that any woman with the audacity to VBAC (and deprive them of a surgery that was supposed to be in the bag) deserves to be “taught a lesson” I think.

while she was pushing!!!!!! i’m sure there is no risk of death at this point due to a previous C section. any risk she would have beyond this point would the same as any other woman giving birth for the first time.

This happened to a friend of mine. She said she had midwives and doctors coming in telling her how irresponsible she was and how she and the baby could die while she was mid-labour.
