"…Your Water Is Gone!"
“Your water has broken and we need to do a cesarean section. Believe me, you don’t want to experience a dry birth since your water is gone”. -OB
Wow, my waters were broken for nearly 50 hours before my baby was born, and it was anything but dry! Constant leaking, lol.
An OB would have c-sectioned me for sure. I had broken waters at 36 weeks and NO labor for over 2 days. Baby and I were in perfect condition, so we just waited for her, and she finally made her appearance!
Ladies, get a GOOD MIDWIFE!

Rachele, I have a friend whose water broke at 32 weeks. She was admitted to the hospital and given treatments to help the baby’s lungs in case labor could not be stopped. He was born *3 weeks* later.
Yet other women are told they “must” have a c-section a couple hours after their waters break. Things that make you go “Hmmm…”

My friend’s water broke at 22 weeks, and the OB recommended terminating. But she stayed in bed, leaking for 8 weeks before the baby was born. He’s fine now, although the beginning was a little rough because he was 10 weeks early.
My point – he’s fine. And after 8 weeks of little to no fluids – like I explain to people – he was getting a shower, not a bath.

Yeah, I mean, it’s not like the fluid regenerates or anything. That’s just crazy talk.
