I was 35 when preg with my first and 37 with my second. My health is much better now than in my 20′s and I had no comps. I used to think 40+ to have babies was irresponsible but now I am thinking about having another in a few years. IF the body is able, why not?

Yeah, this was me. It was one of the tactics the OB used to try to convince me to have a repeat c-section instead of a VBAC attempt. I told her that I wasn’t sure how many more kids I wanted to have, but I didn’t want a c-section turned hysterectomy to be the deciding factor. After this pregnancy (which ended in a coerced CBAC after a long labor), I had one more baby at age 37 (and a VBA2C!).

What total crap. A friend of mine had her third child when she was 35. She had her NINTH when she was 44! That’s six more kids after 35. (And then she adopted three more!)
